Nigerian Teen Okezue Bell Wins $150K for Tech and AI Innovations

A United States-based Nigerian teenager, Okezue Bell, has earned global recognition for his groundbreaking contributions to technology and finance, amassing over $150,000 in awards for his innovative projects.



Bell is the founder of Fidutam, a blockchain-based initiative designed to provide funded bank accounts for unbanked and low-income communities. His work has been celebrated by platforms such as Swiss Cognitive for its significant impact on financial inclusion.

At just 16 years old in 2022, Bell invented WeArm, an affordable, high-functioning prosthetic arm. This project earned him the prestigious International BioGENius Grand Prize and over $80,000 in funding.

Currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Bell has conducted advanced research at Harvard Medical School and the MIT Media Lab, solidifying his reputation as a technological prodigy.




On his website, Bell highlighted Fidutam's efforts in creating a digital ID platform for underserved populations, working closely with key institutions such as the White House, Google, OpenAI, and the Future of Life Institute.
