The Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA), a leading black diaspora professional organization representing over 8,000 Nigerian-descended physicians and dentists in the United States, has announced plans to host ANPA Week 2025 in Lagos.

According to a statement from Cliff Eke, President of ANPA, this year’s event aims to advance healthcare transformation in Lagos through knowledge and skills transfer, training, capacity building, care delivery services, and advocacy.

Themed "Transforming Healthcare: Empowering Physicians, Strengthening Systems," ANPA Week 2025 will take place from April 4 to April 9, 2025. The event is expected to bring together Nigerian and diaspora physicians, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and advocates from around the world to drive meaningful change in Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

ANPA Week will serve as a key platform for collaboration and advocacy, emphasizing the role of healthcare professionals in enhancing service delivery, improving capacity, and shaping policy reforms in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

Key Highlights of ANPA Week 2025

  • Improving healthcare delivery across Nigeria.

  • Strengthening professional capacity and medical training.

  • Advocating for health system reforms and policy improvements.

  • Fostering partnerships for sustainable healthcare development.

  • Mentoring the next generation of Nigerian healthcare professionals.

Recognizing the importance of nurturing young medical talent, ANPA Week will feature special programs designed to inspire and mentor medical students, residents, and early-career physicians.

“ANPA Week 2025 is a crucial opportunity for Nigerian healthcare professionals and policymakers to unite and take decisive action to improve healthcare delivery in Nigeria,” Eke stated.

Through panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and networking events, the program will provide a platform for developing actionable solutions that strengthen healthcare systems, build professional capacity, and advocate for much-needed reforms.
