Prince Joseph Adeboboye Ologbese, born on June 18, 1976, into the first royal family of Odekate in Oka-Akoko, Akoko South West, is a seasoned politician and economist.
His notable tenure as the Hon. Commissioner for the Ministry of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations under the current administration has been marked by significant achievements and transformative leadership.
Under Prince Adeboboye’s adept guidance, the Ministry underwent a profound metamorphosis, emerging as a beacon of efficiency and effectiveness despite numerous challenges. His extensive knowledge and insight into diaspora engagements have projected Ondo State's image and economic potential to the world through active involvement in both international and national summits and conferences.
Prince Boye’s commitment to public service is commendable. His role as a former Commissioner coordinating matters affecting Ondo Diasporas globally exemplifies his enthusiasm for nurturing positive relationships and promoting unity between Ondo and the international community. This dedication facilitated the establishment of the NiDCOM Annex Office in Ondo State and supported the State Government in obtaining approval for the Ondo Deep Sea Port through the innovative Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit.
Through the same platform, he strategically involved the Ekiti State Government via DAWN Commission activities, resulting in the successful approval of the Ondo Deep Sea Port license. Prince Boye’s tenure also saw mutual collaborations with notable organizations such as NiDCOM, the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIDO-Europe, NIDO-America, first-tier Embassies and Consulates, NAPTIP, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.
At the state level, Prince Boye worked closely with relevant MDAs, particularly ONDIPA, to transform Ondo from a civil service state to a business-driven state through diaspora engagement activities. His role as Chairman of the State Focal Officers for Southwest Regional Integration under DAWN Commission underscores his dedication to galvanizing diaspora support for regional development.
His paper on the Green Economy Initiative attracted the attention of the Chinese Government, leading to an invitation to visit nine provinces in China to discuss investment opportunities in Africa, focusing on Ondo State. Additionally, Prince Boye received an invitation from President Vladimir Putin to attend the Russia-Africa Summit, further highlighting his influence and commitment to fostering beneficial partnerships.
Prince Boye’s comportment, integrity, and ideals are qualities worthy of emulation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University), an MBA from Adekunle Ajasin University, diplomas in Food Hygiene and Social Care from Alton College Hampshire and Best Care College London, and a Diploma in Advanced Strategic Leadership, Ethics, and Policy Making from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru Jos. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Administration, Nigeria.
