Lagos Governor Announces $100M Film City Project and Support Boost at AFRIFF




Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed plans for the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony of the African Film City, a colossal $100 million project set to occupy a sprawling 100-hectare site in Epe, the eastern region of Lagos.


Furthermore, Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed the government's commitment to bolstering capacity-building initiatives for aspiring young talents in the film industry.


This includes doubling support for skill enhancement in modern filmmaking and increasing grants for budding creative talents.


The official announcement was made today during the 12th African International Film Festival (AFRIFF) Press Briefing, held at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House in Marina.
