Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hosted African football legend and former Chelsea star Didier Drogba at the Lagos House, Marina, on Monday.

The visit was part of a strategic engagement between Team Drogba and representatives of the E1 Racing Team with the Lagos State Government. The discussions hinted at possible collaborations in sports development and innovation within the state.

Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, confirmed the visit in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). While details of the meeting remain undisclosed, speculation is growing around potential investments in sports and entertainment infrastructure in Lagos.

Drogba, widely celebrated for his impact on and off the pitch, has been involved in various philanthropic and development projects across Africa. His presence in Lagos signals an exciting prospect for sports enthusiasts and stakeholders eager to see further growth in the state’s sporting ecosystem.
