Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has reaffirmed the significant role of Nigerians abroad in driving national progress.

Speaking through Gabriel Odu of NiDCOM’s Media and Protocols Unit at a Para Soccer event in Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa emphasized the need for diaspora Nigerians to support grassroots and inclusive initiatives.

“Our brothers and sisters abroad are key to building the Nigeria we all envision,” she said. “Supporting efforts like today’s event is a meaningful way to contribute to national development.”

The event, held at the Old Parade Ground, celebrated resilience and inclusion through sports. Dabiri-Erewa commended the organizing Foundation for empowering vulnerable communities.

Dr. Krystal Chanchangi, Nigerian-American founder of the Foundation, encouraged diaspora members to take initiative. “Change starts with people, not policies. Let’s give back and uplift our communities,” she urged.

The para soccer match featured energetic participation, cultural performances, and awards for outstanding athletes, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to an inclusive society for all.
