Giannis full name is Giannis Sina Ugo Antetokounmpo. He was born in Athens, Greece on December 6, 1994.


Born to Nigerian parents, Charles and Veronica Antetokounmpo, who had immigrated to Greece, Giannis and his family confronted economic hardships during their upbringing in Athens. To make ends meet, they often resorted to street vending, selling watches and sunglasses. Despite these challenges, Giannis and his brothers harbored a fervent passion for basketball from a very young age.


Giannis embarked on his professional basketball odyssey with the Greek team Filathlitikos in 2012, competing in the nation's second-tier league. His exceptional athleticism and versatility on the court swiftly captured the attention of NBA scouts.


Throughout his illustrious career, Giannis Antetokounmpo has garnered a plethora of accolades, including:
